FAST Copyright Policy
Over the years, individuals have occasionally asked about our policy regarding the duplication of FAST materials. Our response is to point them to these paragraphs in a little book entitled "Counsels to Writers and Editors" (pages 162-165) written nearly 100 years ago:
God desires to bring men into direct relation with Himself. In all His dealings with human beings He recognizes the principle of personal responsibility ... Every man has been made a steward of sacred trusts; each is to discharge his trust according to the direction of the Giver; and by each an account of his stewardshp must be rendered to God.
It has been urged by some that authors have no right to hold the stewardship of their own works; that ... they should claim no share of the profit ... Thus the author's stewardship of his work would be wholly transferred from himself to others.
But not so does God regard the matter. The ability to write a book is, like every other talent, a gift from Him, for the improvement of which the possessor is accountable to God; and he is to invest the returns under His direction...
In shifting the responsibility of his stewardship upon other men, and depending on their wisdom, he is placing man where God should be...
Let not authors be urged either to give away or to sell their right to the books they have written. Let them receive a just share of the profits of their work; then let them regard their means as a trust from God, to be administered according to the wisdom that He shall impart.
We take these words seriously, and thus retain all rights to our online and printed materials. While we encourage others to use our site for personal study and memorization, other use of FAST materials without express written permission is not authorized. For information about obtaining printed materials for use with friends in your church or school, please see our Online Store.
Revenues generated by the sale of FAST materials are the primary means by which we have been able to develop and support the various resources on this site. They are also the means by which we hope to accomplish additional ministry objectives planned for the future. We thank you for your support of our mission.
